Bars??? In Salt Lake City, UT???

Though someone who doesn't live here might think that there are no bars or clubs in a religious city like Salt Lake City, there are actually quite a few. I'm going to be introducing some of the bars and clubs we have to offer.  There are many people from all around the world who live in SLC, so bars accommodate those interested in that form of entertainment/relaxation.

There are multiple reviews on these bars. Though I've never been to any of them for food or drinks, I paraphrased what other people reviewed these pubs/bars/clubs.

Squatters is found on 147 W Broadway and its website is www.squatters.com and the phone number is: (801) 328-2329. There is a fireplace and it's located inside of a warehouse. They also have organic and vegetarian options for food. The food is sometimes great and sometimes horrible, the service is not good, the ambiance is great and the beer is good. They brew their beer locally so some raved on how wonderful the beer tasted.

Junior's Tavern is located on 30 East Broadway and its phone # is (801) 322-0318 and its website iswww.juniorstavern.com. All four reviewers rated it five stars and commented on how friendly the atmosphere was. There were also comments of how friendly the owner and bartender was and how low-key it was. There is apparently Jazz music that plays in the background. It doesn't sound like there's any food, just drinks, billiards and video games.

Kristauf's Martini Bar is located on 16 West Market Street, its phone # is (801) 366-9490 and its website is www.martinibarslc.com. This is more of a high-scale bar - only serving martinis and other spirits and not beer. The atmosphere is great, the weekend DJ is awesome, the service is great (at least earlier in the evening) and it's just a fun place to hang out with friends and have fun.

O'Shucks Bar & Grill  is located on 22 East 100 South. The phone # is (801) 596-8600 and they don't have a website. It is a cozy place with great music (but sometimes can be too loud to have a conversation over) and GREAT sushi - has an Irish Pub feel and can get very busy (on Wednesdays especially).

Poplar Street Pub is located on 242 South 200 West and the phone # is (801) 532-2715 and the website is www.poplarstreetpub.com. There are food and drinks as well as video games. There is a $5 cover charge. The garlic fries and music are great. The service is great when served at the bar, but horrible when outside on the patio.

Cheers To You is located on 315 South Main Street. The phone # is (801) 575-6400 and the website is www.cheerstoyouslc.com. It seems like people either hated it or loved it. The lighting is dim and the tables are small. There were many complaining about how rude and inconsiderate the bartenders were, but others just loved the ambiance and had a great time and loved the food. Beware of the bartender trying to get you to buy a yearly membership.

The Tavernacle Social Club is located on 201 East Broadway. The phone # is (801) 519-8900 and the website is www.tavernacle.com‎. There is a $5 cover charge some nights. There is no food served, but many drinks and entertainment. Every person who mentioned the entertainment said that it was FABULOUS and such a riot to see how many different varieties of music the pianists play. The bartenders sound like they're slow and inconsiderate but some go anyway to be entertained.

Lumpys Downtown is located on 145 Pierpont Avenue and the phone # is (801) 938-3070 and the website is www.lumpysdowntown.com. They serve a myriad of drinks, from beer to champagne to cocktails and liquor. It has many big screen TVs and it's big on the sports scene. Everything on the menu is large-sized. Some have a great experience and some have a horrible experience. The dance floor is small, sometimes the service is good and sometimes it isn't.

There are other bars, but these are the ones in the heart of downtown where most tourists go.
